With my background as a journalist (have a look at my portfolio) I am often asked to bring my writing skills to corporate projects including brochures, newsletters, websites and marketing materials.
For any of these projects I’ll seek to gain a thorough understanding of both the client and the audience, discussing with you your objectives for the project, your desired tone of voice and how the copy is to be used.
I’ve written newsletters and e-newsletters for businesses and charities, including interviewing key staff, clients or service users to produce engaging copy and taking photos or engaging a photographer and working with designers and printers to ensure a quality product that fulfils its purpose.
At all stages clients have as much or as little involvement as they require and no costs are incurred or final proofs approved without their sign-off.
Writing for print and web can be very different so I advise against ‘doubling up’ with copy but can adapt copy written for one format for the other. I work with many clients to critique their website and suggest copy and stylistic changes to make their sites more effective and engaging. I also work with web designers and developers to write copy for brand new sites.
